A Dhaka court yesterday fixed August 13 for charge framing hearing against 13 accused persons, including Tazreen Fashions Managing Director Delwar Hossain, in two cases filed over the Tazreen fire tragedy. Judge SM Quddus Zaman of Dhaka District and Sessions Judge’s Court fixed the date after hearing time petitions by the defence counsels. In the petition, the defence counsels mentioned they would need more time as their senior counsel TM Akbar was busy with the August 21 grenade attack cases. The court fixed the date in August after Public Prosecutor Khandaker Abdul Mannan, who is representing the state, said he also needed time to scrutinise the case documents. On November 24, 2012, 112 workers were killed and scores of others wounded in the country’s worst industrial fire at Tazreen Fashions.
