A fire broke out at a godown of jute and cotton on Sonali Tobaco road near Tongi Police Station in the city on Saturday. Fire service officials said the fire erupted at the godown in the area around 7:30m. On information, three fire fighting units rushed to the spot and doused the blaze with the help of local people after half an hour of frantic efforts. The origin of the fire could not be identified yet.
