Vietnamese firm gets VAT automation job

The government is going to appoint a Vietnamese IT firm to implement a project under value added tax online project to raise revenue earning. Cabinet Committee on Public Purchase is set to approve the proposal from Vietnamese firm FPT Information System Corporation. The project works include establishment, operation and maintenance of integrated VAT administration system (IVAS) through delivery of commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) software, hardware, networking and support services. The works will start after Eid-ul-fitr. Three foreign firms participated in the tender process. They are FPT Information Systems, Canada’s Sogema Group and Chinese firm Haier and Asino Corporation. After evaluation, the tender evaluation committee recommended the proposal of FPT Information System. The project is Tk260.94 crore.
