Twelve industrial organisations will get President Award for Industrial Development, which will be given for the first time, said officials of the industries ministry. The selected awardees are BSRM Steels Limited (Chittagong), Abdul Monem Limited (Dhaka) and BRB Cable Industries Limited (Kushtia) under large industries category. Under medium industries category, the selected firms are Basumati Distribution Limited (Dhaka), National Agricare Import and Export Limited (Dhaka), and Jalalabad Frozen Foods Limited (Khulna). The awardees under small industries category are Helal and Brothers (Narshingdi), Edison Group of Industries (Chittagong), and Prince Chemical Company Limited (Pabna). anani Weaving Factory (Manikganj) is selected under cottage industries category while Western Marine Shipyard Limited (Chittagong) and Service Engine Limited (Dhaka) will receive awards under high-tech industries category. The selected organisations will be awarded with crests and certificates in recognition to their contribution to the national economy through establishing factories, production of goods, job creation and increasing national income in 2014, they said. According to a gazette notification issued by the industries ministry on July 2, the industrial entrepreneurs have been selected under five categories in line with the President’s Industrial Development Policy-2013. Officials said that the awards would be handed over to the selected organisations at a programme to be held in Dhaka after getting schedule of the president, Abdul Hamid.
