Trainers and participants of a training programme titled “Essentials of Occupational Safety and Health” pose for photograph during a training on the premises of POSMI Sweaters in the city recently.A total of 8,000 mid-level officials of the readymade garment factories in the country will be provided trainings in an effort to avert any possible debacles like Rana Plaza disaster in the future.As part of it, a programme has been undertaken aiming at educating readymade garment workers on various safety and health measures to be adopted in the workplace.The programme is funded by the International Training Centre-International Labor Organisation (ITC-ILO).The Bangladesh Employers Association (BEA), the Bangladesh Garments Manufacturers and exporters Association (BGMEA), and the Bangladesh Knitwear Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BKMEA) jointly organised the programme.
