A three-day business consultation titled ‘India Invest Trade Conference-2015’ is set to start in the capital on Thursday. Country’s apex trade body Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) jointly with Indian High Commission in Dhaka and the Commerce Ministry of India is organizing the conference at the Bangabandhu International Conference Centre (BICC). FBCCI President Abdul Matlub Ahmad disclosed this at a press conference on Tuesday at the federation office. India-Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IBCCI) President Mohammad Ali and Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI) acting President Humayun Rashid were also present. Industries Minister Amir Hossain Amu is expected to inaugurate the event while Chief Minister of Indian state of Meghalaya Dr Mukul Sangma, Chief Minister of Manipur Okram Ibobi Singh and Indian High Commissioner in Dhaka Pankaj Saran will also remain present during the opening. A seminar titled ‘The India-Bangladesh Business Conclave: The Way Forward’ will be held on August 8, the last day of the event where Finance Minister AMA Muhith will be present as Chief Guest. Matlub reiterated two demands in a bid to stimulate investment in the electrical equipment and electronics product sector – providing 5 per cent cash incentives for three years and allocating at least one Special Economic Zone (SEZ) for establishing an ‘Electrical Industrial Park’. If the government fulfils the two demands of the country’s business community, the FBCCI chief said, they will be able to manufacture advanced technology products which will, in turn, boost export earnings
