Klüber Lubrication opens new plant in India

Germany-based Klüber Lubrication India Pvt Ltd, a subsidiary of Freudenberg Chemical Specialities (FCS), inaugurated its state-of-the-art laboratories, production & warehousing facilities at their existing Indian facility. “FCS was one of the first to introduce speciality chemical solutions to the Indian market through its global brands Klüber Lubrication, OKS, Chem-Trend and Sur-Tec,” a FCS press release informed. The new facility has been built with an investment of Rs 135 crores and will cater to various applications in the textile, automotive, food, cement, textile, and general industries for both domestic as well as global markets. Covering a surface area of 17,000 square meters on a site of around 40,000 square metres, the expanded facilities will make the Mysore plant one of the biggest of its kind within FCS. According to FCS, the new site will become a hub for innovation with its comprehensive test facility and R&D center, catering to the needs of Asia Pacific for speciality lubricants, release agents and maintenance products. The site will have manufacturing facilities for speciality lubricating oils, greases, pastes, aerosols and release agents across Klüber Lubrication, OKS and Chem-Trend brands. Jagadesh Channiah, director production & technology, Klüber Lubrication said, “We need quick response time, advanced R&D and test capabilities to meet the changing requirements of the industry.” “Our new facility will help us in serving our markets and be closer to our customers,” he added. Klüber Lubrication develops and manufactures speciality lubricants including oils, greases, pastes and bonded coatings to serve diverse industries. Klüber has been working with original equipment manufacturers (OEM’s) across the globe including India in addressing their challenging lubrication needs through application engineering coupled with value added services. Chem-Trend produces high performance release agents, purge compounds and ancillary products like die casting, polyurethane, tyre, rubber, composites and thermoplastics. OKS Speciality Lubricants was the first company in the FCS group to be present in India and one of the first to introduce the concept of speciality lubricants. The new facility will further strengthen the capabilities of OKS in the areas of Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) applications. Freudenberg Chemical Specialities is a business group within the Germany based Freudenberg Group, with a history of more than 160 years.
