A garment worker was stabbed to death by one of his fellows in Ershad Nagar area near Pacific Garments Factory of the city’s Tongi on Thursday morning, reports UNB. The deceased was identified as Habibur Rahman, 25, a resident of the area. Mohammad Ali, officer-in-charge of Tongi Police Station, said an altercation ensued between Habibur Rahman and his fellow Nasir over a trifling matter in the morning. At one stage, Nasir stabbed Habibur indiscriminately with a sharp weapon, leaving him critically injured. Later, Habibur was rushed to Tongi Government Hospital where attending doctors declared him dead. Informed, police recovered the body and sent it to Gazipur Shahid Taz Uddin Ahmed Medical College Hospital morgue for an autopsy. Police also arrested Nasir with the help of local people.
