US Ambassador in Dhaka Marcia Stephens Bloom Bernicat visited Jeacon Garments Ltd. and Concord Fashion Export Ltd, owned by Concord Group, recently at South Salna in Gazipur. She visited different floors of the factory and expressed her satisfaction over safety measures, work environment, different facilities, secured power system, fire-fighting system, stairs, and quality of garments. After the visit, she exchanged views with the management and employees. She said if the other factories of the country would follow the rules properly to produce quality garments, buyers must come, said a statement. The rules necessary for the smooth operation are strictly followed in this factory. And she was delighted to learn that the factory was the first ACCORD-certified company in Bangladesh and a 100 per cent ACCORD standards-compliant. She was also very optimistic about the future of ready-made garment sector of the country. Chairman S. M. Kamaluddin, Managing Director Mr. S. K. Lala, Deputy Managing Director Shahriar Kamal, Executive Director Jahangir Kabir Rasel and other high officials of Concord Group were present during the visit of the US ambassador.
