BGMEA training youths of erstwhile enclaves

Bangladesh Garments Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) launched a month-long training course for 30 male and female youths of the erstwhile enclaves in Panchagarh district town on Thursday. The free training is being imparted on ‘Sweater Knitting and Linking Machine Operation at the Training Centre of Panchagarh Youth Development Office with a view to making the youths skilled human resources. The BGMEA in association with the Youth Development Department is organising the training course and the process will continue for the erstwhile socioeconomically backward enclave people to speed up their development. The training course is aimed at appointing all of the unemployed 30 male and female trainee youths in the country’s export-oriented readymade garment (RMG) sector in Dhaka as skilled human resources after completion of their training course. Expert trainers of BGMEA Ali Hassan and Sohrab Hossain are conducting the course. General Secretary of Panchagarh District Awami League and Sadar Upazila Chairman Anwar Sadat Samrat inaugurated the training course. Presided over by Deputy Director of the Youth Development Department for Panchagarh Abul Hossain, its Deputy Project Coordinator Mostafa Kamal and Sadar Upazila Youth Development Officer Awlad Hossain addressed the inaugural function as the special guests. Highly lauding the BGMEA initiative, the speakers put maximum emphasis on skill development of the unemployed male and female youths of the erstwhile enclaves through combined efforts of all concerned to pave their way for employment. They urged the public and private sectors to put efforts for turning the erstwhile enclave people into skilled work forces through providing them training on various trades for ensuring their employment both at home and abroad.
