Country’s businesspeople should use different instruments of the capital market as alternative sources of fund, said Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry president Matlub Ahmed on Monday. Matlub made the call when a delegation of the DSE Brokers Association of Bangladesh led by its president Ahsanul Islam Titu met him at the FBCCI building in the city. The FBCCI president also suggested that the association should organise a coordination meeting in every two months with top businessman to make them understand the significance of the capital market. He also said that the association formed by the brokers of Dhaka Stock Exchange would soon get membership of the FBCCI, an apex trade body. Matlub also hoped that the organisation would play a strong role in the capital market development and would continue to do so in future for the greater interest of the economy of Bangladesh. Ahsanul said, ‘DSE Brokers Association of Bangladesh will soon become a member of the FBCCI and the membership will help us in raising awareness among the investors.’ ‘There are 64 chambers and different business bodies under the FBCCI. The channel will help the brokers’ association in building awareness among the investors regarding the significance of the capital market,’ he said. DSE Brokers Association members Md Mizanur Rahman Khan, AS Shahudul Haque Bulbul, Md Hanif Bhuiyan, Minhaz Mannan Emon, Khugesta Nur-E-Naharin, Md Zahirul Islam, Mostaque Ahmed Sadeque and Mahbubur Rahman Selim were also present in the meeting.
