IDT’s Make in India show at New York Fashion Week

Students of Institute of Design and Technology (IDT), Surat along with fashion designer Archana Kochhar showcased their latest collection ‘Ahmisa Resama’ in the prestigious New York Fashion Week at Vanderbilt Hall in Grand Central Terminal earlier this week, the institute said i a press release. The stunning collection featured fabric produced in India called “Ahimsa Silk”. Dipped in a stunning style of fashion with spark of brown and golden look, students of IDT and fashion designer Archana Kochhar presented the “Ahmisa Resama” which is an amalgamation of global silhouettes with ethnic and traditional embroideries. This collection is a mélange of rich Indian & traditional gold zari thread, intellectual texturing techniques. The colour flows in the nude palettes of beige and ivory offset with rose gold embellishments accompanied by neat structured tailoring. Anupam Goyal, Director, IDT said, “We at Institute of Design and Technology (IDT) are proud to be associated with such a reputed fashion designer like Archana Kochhar. Moreover, after our synergy for various Surat and Mumbai based shows, we are glad to participate with her in New York Fashion Week 2015. Also the presence of Indian produced fabric at an international runway will certainly promote it in the global market and ultimately encourage its production.” After joining forces with Archana Kochhar, internationally established FTL Moda and consulting firm Global Disability Inclusion, LLC, IDT has effectively showcased its collection with “Make in India” fabric and an objective to provide visibility to physically challenged models in the fashion industry.
