Leaders of CBA and non-CBA Oiykko Parishad of state-owned jute mills of Khulna-Jessore industrial belt will observe highway and railway blockade programme for eight hours from 10:00am to 6:00pm on September 22. It was announced in a public meeting held in Atra industrial area of Khulna city on Friday. Convener of Oiykko Parishad presided over the public meeting. Hundreds of workers of state-owned jute mills were present at the meeting. From the meeting, worker leaders announced a fresh four-day programme to continue their movement. The four-day programmes include protest procession carrying plates and utensils on Sunday, view exchange meeting on Monday. Convener of the Oiykko Parishad Md Sohrab Hossain said that they decided to postpone the programme of disconnecting power and water supply lines of the residence of jute mills officials considering Eid-ul-Azha. In addition, the Oiykko Parishad would go for hunger strike for indefinite period after holding a public meeting on October 1, he added.
