Amazon.in, an affiliate of global online marketplace Amazon.com, has launched ‘Crafted in India’ store on Amazon India Fashion Week (AIFW) page featuring more than 3,500 products from 11 different regions. Curated to showcase authentic selections in sarees, shoes, handbags, and much more, the ‘Crafted in India’ store opens a whole new world of authentic regional fashion and crafts for customers across India. Sourced straight from the master weavers and artisans from different regions, customers can handpick from a wide selection of Benarasi sarees with gorgeous metallic patterns from Varanasi, intricate Chikankari embroidery from Lucknow and Bandhani Dupattas of Rajasthan and Gujarat, handwoven Kosa silk and Chanderi sarees from Madhya Pradesh, elaborate and graceful sarees in Kanjeevaram and Coimbatore Silks from Tamil Nadu, Traditional handbags with famous Kutch embroidery of Gujarat and many more, the e-commerce portal said in a media statement. “Our aim is to revive the authentic Indian handicrafts market and make every region’s iconic craft(s) accessible to customer across the country at affordable prices. Looking at the modern-day sensibilities in fashion today, the store is designed to offer a wide array of selection suited to varying tastes and style preferences of our customers,” said Susan Saideman, head – Amazon Fashion, India. “This store is an eclectic collection of elegant Indian crafts and designs that are both contemporary and traditional. It’s one of our top festive offerings this season and we will continue to introduce more over the next few months,” she added. Since its foray into fashion in September 2013 with the launch of the Fashion Jewellery & Watches selection, Amazon.in has continually widened its portfolio to include apparel for men, women, kids across ethnic wear and western wear among others. Today the store has over 5,000 brands and over five lakh styles.
