Minister for Industries Amir Hossain Amu reiterated his government’s commitment for ensuring occupational safety and health in the industries of Bangladesh. He told this to the Danish Minister of Employment Jorn Neergaard Larsen in Copenhagen on the second day of his visit to Denmark, said an official handout. Amu briefed the action plan of the government in attaining the safety and worker’s rights, especially in RMG sector. During the meeting they discussed about the ‘Denmark-Bangladesh Strategic Sector Cooperation’ launched in Dhaka in March 2015. The Danish Minister expressed Danish Government’s interest to continue their cooperation for better working conditions in the Bangladesh industries including the RMG sector which has set a goal to export $50bn worth of products in near future. Earlier, the Industries Minister held discussions with the top management of Aral Foods, the leading dairy company in the Nordic region and discussed the possible areas of mutual co-operation in ensuring availability of nutritious dairy products within the reach of mass people in Bangladesh. Bangladesh Ambassador to Denmark Muhammad Abdul Muhith and Danish Ambassador to Bangladesh Hanne Fugle Eskaer accompanied the Minister.
