Danish Ambassador to Bangladesh Hanne Fugl Eskjaer met BGMEA President M Siddiqur Rahman at the latter’s office in the city on Thursday and discussed various issues related to Bangladesh’s readymade garment (RMG) sector. Two Danish delegations arrive in the city this month to discuss how the Aalborg University can collaborate with Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA). BGMEA Vice President (Finance) Mohammed Nasir told UNB after Danish Ambassador to Bangladesh Hanne Fugl Eskjaer on Thursday met BGMEA President M Siddiqur Rahman at the latter’s office and discussed various issues related to Bangladesh’s readymade garment (RMG) sector. Mr Nasir, who attended the meeting, said they also discussed the visit of the two delegations from Denmark-one from Danish Fashion and Textile and another from Aalborg University. During the meeting, they discussed different business issues, including raising productivity, environmental sustainability, energy efficiency, and occupational health and safety (OHS) in the RMG sector, in addition to future cooperation on the issues. BGMEA Senior Vice President Faruque Hassan, Vice President Mahmud Hasan Khan (Babu), Deputy Head of the Embassy Jakob Haugaard, Growth Counsellor Jens Rise Rasmussen, Commercial Counsellor Soren Robenhagen, and its other high officials were also present.
