Prime Minister’s Office rewarded Bangladesh Export Processing Zones Authority (BEPZA) for achieving excellent success in accomplishing the Key Performance Indicators (KPI) targets of 2014-15 fiscal year. Md Abul Kalam Azad, Principal Secretary of the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), handed over certificate to Maj Gen Mohd Habibur Rahman Khan, Executive Chairman of BEPZA, at Prime Minister’s Office on Tuesday. Ms Suraiya Begum, Secretary of PMO, was present at the certificate handover ceremony. The PMO and BEPZA signed a Memorandum of Understanding on KPI to evaluate the qualitative and quantitative activities of BEPZA for the FY 2014-15 on 30 June of last year. To ensure institutional accountability, transparency, proper use of public resources, and to uphold the organisational success in a quantitative way and improvement of the organisational efficiency in public sector as a tool of performance management, the government has taken initiative for the first time.
