Customs Intelligence and Investigation Directorate officials in Chittagong on Tuesday filed a departmental case against the owner of a garment accessories manufacturing factory for misusing bondfacilities by selling imported raw materials in the local market. Deputy director of Customs Intelligence and Investigation Directorate Jakir Hossain, said the firm Liberty Enterprise located at Foteyabad in Hathazari upazila imported 3,560 tonnes of raw materials during the last six months worth about Tk 460 million under bond facility, a duty free facility for importing goods on condition of export. The owner of the organisation sold those goods in local market misusing the bond facility. A case was filed for allegedly evading duty worth about Tk 110 million.
