FICCI president re-elected

Rupali Chowdhury has been re-elected as President of Foreign Investors’ Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) for the year 2015-17. She has been elected as President, FICCI for the consecutive second term. On the other hand, Mr. Kevin Lyon, President of Chevron Bangladesh has been elected as Vice-President of FICCI. Ms Chowdhury has been serving as Managing Director of Berger Paints Bangladesh Limited since 2008. She started her career with Ciba Giegy (Bangladesh) Limited in 1984 and joined Berger Paints Bangladesh Limited as Head of Planning in 1990. She is an MBA from IBA, University of Dhaka, and completed her Graduation with Honours in Chemistry from the University of Chittagong. She is an Independent Director of Marico Bangladesh Limited, and President of Bangladesh Paint Manufacturer’s Association and also the Executive Member of Prothom-Alo Trust. Prior to becoming President of FICCI in 2013 she served as Member of the Executive Committee of FICCI since 2008. She also served as Executive Member of Bangladesh Employers’ Federation. Mr. Kevin Lyon is currently the President of Chevron Bangladesh commencing his position since January 2015. He received his Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering in 1988 from University of Wyoming. He is also a registered professional engineer in the State of Texas. Mr. Kevin has worked for Chevron previously in The Netherlands, Indonesia, Philippines and Nigeria. Before his arrival in Bangladesh, Kevin was the country manager for Chevron Exploration and Production Netherlands, part of the Chevron Upstream Europe strategic business unit. In this role, he was responsible for Chevron’s oil and gas production in 10 offshore blocks located in the Dutch sector of the North Sea. Earlier he held the position of President of Chevron, Malampaya. He Joined Texaco in 1988 and during his career in the energy industry he has held a variety of positions ranging from downstream refinery projects, midstream pipeline operations and upstream exploration and development.
