President Abdul Hamid on Tuesday urged South Korean entrepreneurs to come up with more investment in Bangladesh as a congenial investment atmosphere is prevailing here, reports UNB. The President said this when newly appointed South Korean Ambassador to Bangladesh Ahn Seong-doo presented his credentials to President Abdul Hamid at Bangabhaban. Welcoming the envoy, Abdul Hamid said South Korea is a good friend of Bangladesh and both the countries are working as development partners. President’s press secretary Joynal Abedin briefed reporters after the meeting. Ahn Seong-doo said South Korea is a good partner when it comes to cooperation for Bangladesh’s development, and informed that their government is interested to extend support for various sectors, including infrastructural development and ICT. Earlier, High Commissioner of the Maldives to Bangladesh Mohammed Asim presented his credentials to President Abdul Hamid at Bangabhaban. During the meeting, Abdul Hamid thanked the Maldives government for reopening resident mission in Dhaka and said the relations between the two countries would be strengthened further through the initiative. The Maldives gives importance to the development of relations with Bangladesh, said Asim adding that he would put in his best efforts to extend bilateral relation during his tenure here. Earlie on their arrival at Bangabhaban, the new envoys were given guard of honour separately by a contingent of the President’s Guard Regiment. Secretaries concerned to the President were present.
