A female readymade garment worker was allegedly slaughtered by her husband in Chittagong city’s EPZ area yesterday evening. Police recovered the dead body of Nazira Beghum, 25, originally from Baniyachang of Habiganj, in a tin-shed house in Mohammadpur area of EPZ yesterday evening, said Sub-Inspector Md Kibria of the local police station. Her husband Al Amin went into hiding after the incident, the SI said. Local people first spotted the body in the couple’s house and informed police, who later recovered the dead body that lying in a pool of blood on the floor, by breaking open the locked door at around 3:30pm. Al Amin, who is also a RMG worker, might have been slit Nazira’s throat and fled by locking the door from the outside Nazira and Al Amin got married two to three years ago. Police suspect that the murder took place over family feud. Police sent the dead body to the Chittagong Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy while the process of filing a case was underway with EPZ police station until filing of this report.
