TS Tech Bangladesh Limited, a 100 per cent Japanese-owned company, will invest US$ 5.51 million to establish a car seat trim cover industry at Adamjee Export Processing Zone (EPZ). In this connection, an agreement was signed between Bangladesh Export Processing Zones Authority (BEPZA) and TS Tech Bangladesh Limited at BEPZA Complex in the city on Thursday, said a press release.BEPZA Member (Investment Promotion) Sayed Nurul Islam and Chairman of TS Tech Bangladesh Yoshiaki Yui signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organisations.BEPZA Executive Chairman Major General Mohammad Habibur Rahman Khan and Country Representative (Bangladesh) of Japan External Trade Organisation (JETRO) Kei Kawano attended the signing ceremony along with its Member (Engineering) Md Mosaddeque Ali, Secretary Md Shawkat Nabi, General Manager (Public Relations) Nazma Binte Alamgir and General Manager (Investment Promotion) Ahsan Kabir. The initiative will enhance investment cooperation in new dimension and in accordance of BEPZA-JETRO agreement during Prime Minister’s Sheikh Hasina’s Tokyo visit in last year brings this Japanese investment in EPZ. A 9012-square meter standard factory building has been allotted to TS Tech Bangladesh Limited for producing 0.3 million pieces car’s seat trim cover per annum.It will be the first this kind of non-traditional product manufacturing plant in EPZs of Bangladesh. TS Tech factory will create employment opportunity for 508 Bangladeshi nationals.
