He said the LDCs had firmed up their position before the ministerial conference of the WTO in Nairobi. Tofail, who is the coordinator of the LDCs in the World Trade Organisation, said this while talking to reporters after the final evaluation meeting of the ministers and representatives of the LDCs at Intercontinental Hotel in the Kenyan capital on Friday. The meeting was held to make the stance of the LDCs clear to the representatives of the developed countries ahead of the Nairobi Declaration, slated for Friday night (Bangladesh time). The Commerce Minister noted that the LDCs are united under the leadership of Bangladesh to keep mounting pressure on the developed countries to keep up with the commitments of the earlier ministerial conferences, particularly service waiver and tariff waiver for agricultural products. The 10th ministerial conference began in Nairobi on December 15, and is expected to end on Friday night, according to a news agency.
