Five workers sustained burn injuries as a fire broke out at readymade garments factory at Najimnagar on the Hemayetpur-Singair road in Savar upazila yesterday morning, reports UNB. Sources at Fire Service Control Room said the fire erupted at the garments factory of ‘Deco Accessories Ltd’ in the area 7:30 am. On information, six fire fighting units from Savar, EPZ, Mohammadpur fire stations and the fire service headquarters rushed in and doused the blaze after one and a half hours of frantic efforts. Five workers of the factory received burns during their attempt to fight the fire. Of the injured, one was admitted to Enam Medical College Hospital while four others were given first aid, informed UNB Savar correspondent. Neither the reason behind the fire could be ascertained nor the loss caused by it estimated immediately.
