President Abdul Hamid has sought more Korean investment in Bangladesh, saying that the government is offering lucrative incentives for foreign investors. The president said this when visiting deputy speaker of the national assembly of the Republic of Korea Jeong Kab Yoon made a courtesy call on him at Bangabhaban in Dhaka on Sunday. Terming Korea as one of the important development partners of Bangladesh, Abdul Hamid urged Korea to increase its import from Bangladesh, saying that Korea can import more jute and jute goods, RMG and ceramics from Bangladesh. He also underscored the need for exchange of visits at different levels including public-private and people’s representatives for further strengthening the existing bilateral relations. Jeong Kab Yoon highly appreciated the government for maintaining 6 plus growth and said it is certainly a remarkable success for the country. He also lauded Bangladeshis working in Korea and the workers are contributing to the economic development of both the countries. Focusing on the existing bilateral relations, the deputy speaker said both the countries are enjoying excellent relations especially in the area of trade and commerce. Korean entrepreneurs who have investment in Bangladesh are doing business happily here, he added. Jeong Kab Yoon thanked the president for the support and cooperation the Bangladesh government has been extending to Korea in different international forums.
