A fire broke out at an apparel factory in the capital’s Mirpur on Sunday night. The fire originated on the ground floor of Syntex Garments at Mirpur-14 about 9:00pm, fire service and civil defence Mirpur station senior officer Abdullah Al Arefin told New Age. Five units of firefighters put out the fire about 9:50pm, he said. The factory was housed at a six-storey building. Causes of the fire could not be known immediately, but short circuit could be the reason, Arefin said.
