Egyptian Prime Minister Ismail Sherif has assured the government’s full support to the country’s industrial sector and the textile industry in particular. The Prime Minister called for drafting a comprehensive plan to develop the industry, the country’s wire service Mena has reported. During a meeting with the governor of the Central Bank of Egypt, the ministers of trade and finance, the head of the Federation of Egyptian Industries and representatives of textile companies, sheriff said urgent measures will be taken to develop and encourage textile industries to increase their exports. He said studies for establishing a textile city in Minya have to be completed soon. The meeting also addressed the main obstacles facing Egypt’s textile industries.
