Chorka Textile Ltd has achieved the British Standard Occupational Health and Safety Assessment Series (BS OHSAS) 18001:2007 certificate recently, reports BSS. Germany’s GIZ awarded Chorka Textile Ltd and 20 others readymade garment (RMG) factories for their initiatives to fulfill the requirements for workers and workplace safety. On June 15, GIZ announced the name of the factories at a programme in a local city hotel here, said a press release Sunday. The RMG factories earned the BS OHSAS 18001: 2007 certificate for the first time in the country. Eleash Mridha, Director of PRAN received the certificate on behalf of Chorka Textile Ltd. Hence, Chorka Textile Limited is a sister concern of PRAN-RFL Group. A fully export-oriented firm, Chorka Textile started its journey in 2013 in Narsingdi. Secretary of Labour and Employment Ministry Mikail Shipar, Inspector General of Department of Inspection for Factories and Establishments Faruque Hassan, Senior Vice President of Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association, First Secretary of German Development Cooperation in Bangladesh were present at the event.
