A fire broke out at a footwear factory at Joydebpur in Gazipur early Sunday. Hasibur Rahman, officer of Joydebpur Fire Service Station, said the fire originated from an electric short circuit at ‘Satota Shoe Factory’ in Mariali area around 12:15am and soon engulfed the entire building. On information, three firefighting units went to the spot and doused the blaze. The extent of losses caused by the fire would be around Tk10 lakh, the officer added.
