Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association president Siddiqur Rahman on Monday briefed French ambassador to Dhaka Sophie Aubert about the overall situation of the country’s readymade garment industry after the recent terror attack on foreigners at a Gulshan restaurant in Dhaka. Seventeen foreigners were killed in the attack.The BGMEA president and the French envoy discussed the overall situation of the RMG industry at a meeting during a courtesy visit made by Sophie to the BGMEA at the association’s building in Dhaka. Siddiqur said that the recent terror attack at Gulshan did not put any negative impact on the country’s apparel industry and the international buyers assured the BGMEA of continuing their business with Bangladesh. The government is also providing all types of assistance related to security and safety to the buyers, he said adding that buyers are getting security during their movement in Bangladesh.
