Bangladesh Export Processing Zones Authority (BEPZA) exceeded the export target of $6000 million by $676 million during the fiscal year 2015-16.BEPZA has exported goods worth $6676.32 million from the enterprises of eight EPZs, showing an increase of 9.21 percent from that in the previous fiscal.The enterprises managed to fetch total $ 6113.49 million from exports in the previous fiscal 2014-15. In 2015-16 fiscal year, the enterprises of Chittagong EPZ exported goods worth $2419.71 million, Dhaka EPZ $2183.9 million, Karnaphuli EPZ $823.28 million, Adamjee EPZ $562.91 million, Comilla EPZ $308.33 million, Mongla EPZ $74.66 million, Ishwardi EPZ $114.74 million and Uttara EPZ $188.8 million.In the previous fiscal, Chittagong EPZ earned $2383.76 million, Dhaka EPZ $1997.5 million, Karnaphuli EPZ $709.74 million, Adamjee EPZ $467.37 million, Comilla EPZ $274.63 million, Mongla EPZ $84.26 million, Ishwardi EPZ $108.26 million and Uttara EPZ earned $87.99 million.Eight EPZs of BEPZA covers only 2307.27 acres of land. From this very little area, BEPZA is contributing a huge impact in the economy of Bangladesh.In 2015-16 fiscal, BEPZA contributed about 20 percent to the total national export, the BEPZA said.
