Raw materials and finished products worth Tk 6 million were gutted in a fire at Al-Hamid Textile Mill in Chittagong Export Processing Zone on Friday. The fire broke out at the textile mill, owned by Firoz Ali Fakhri, around 12:15 pm. On information, two fire-fighting units from CEPZ Fire Service Station rushed to the scene and brought the flames under control within an hour. Fire Service sources said the cause of the fire could not be known immediately. The extent of loss caused by the fire could be around Tk 6 million, they added.
