The government has taken all-out preparation to ensure an intensified security vigil at all readymade garment (RMG)-based industrial areas in the capital and elsewhere across the country, reports BSS. “Members of the law enforcement agencies enforced a stringent security measure to avert militant and terrorist attacks at all factories and buying houses in the capital and elsewhere,” state minister for labour and employment ministry Mujibul Haque Chunnu told the news agency on Saturday. He said all concerned agencies of the government remains alert so that none can tarnish the image of country’s RMG sector by unleashing terrorist attacks. Mujibul mentioned that the law enforcement agencies were also asked to intensify security vigil at all garment factories and buying houses at Gazipur, Savar, Ashulia and Narayanganj industrial belts where many foreign citizens work. The state minister said the meals of RMG workers and their other necessary goods coming from outside would be examined for security reason while metal detector archway and close circuit television (CCTV) cameras will be installed at all garment factories. The state minister called upon owners and workers of mills or factories to remain alert against the conspiracies of militant outfits and terrorists and urged not to hold any ‘movement’ in the industrial areas so that no militants can avail this opportunity. Separate meetings and anti-militancy awareness campaign will be launched at all industrial belts from this month, he added. Talking to BSS, Director General of industrial police Abdus Salam said, “We started working with security measures for the foreign nationals working in country’s garments sector. . . Police will maintain their fulltime vigilance in and around the factories.” Besides, the state minister said the law enforcement agencies will be asked to ensure foolproof security measures for the foreign buyers. “We are very much capable to provide those (foreigners) all time security from office to dormitories or airport,” he said urging all to take pragmatic steps against the anti-state militant forces.
