The fifth edition of the two-day Bangladesh Denim Expo is going to kick off in Dhaka on November 8. More than 5,000 visitors from across the world are expected to participate in the expo at International Convention City Bashundhara, according to a statement from Bangladesh Denim Expo, a non-profit organisation. The objective of the fair is to showcase the country’s growth potential in the denim industry. Visitors, including buyers, brand representatives, CEOs, sourcing managers, manufacturers, merchandisers and denim connoisseurs from the US, the UK, Germany, Italy, France, the Netherlands, Turkey, Spain, Belgium, Sweden, the UAE, Vietnam and China are expected to participate in the show. There will be a total of 55 exhibitors from 15 countries looking to show their product availability and brand value to the world. Multiple events of live demonstration will also be held, including one by Living Blue. The theme of this edition of the fair is ‘natural denim’, which will provide an opportunity to the visitors to make business connections and at the same time, learn new concepts of the trade, denim innovation, strategy and manufacturing. Two knowledge sessions — ‘Improving the unit economics of the RMG manufacturing industry’ and ‘Choose the right way of denim washing’ — will be held on the sidelines of the expo. The show will be inaugurated at 11am. It will be open only to invited guests from 11am to 7pm on both days.
