In fiscal 2015-16, Danish fashion retailer Bestseller A/S doubled its profit before tax at €273 million over the previous fiscal. In the same period, Bestseller experienced a 5 per cent growth in its total turnover, which touched €3.07 billion. Wholesale revenues, combined with increased focus on costs led to the increase in revenue and pretax profits. According to Bestseller, Southern Europe and England primarily drove the results in the fiscal under review, while those for Scandinavia, India, Turkey and the Middle East were not satisfactory. Although, the wholesale and retail channels still represent 80 per cent of its business, the fashion retailer feels there is a need to focus even more on digital growth and on ways of reaching its consumers digitally. Bestseller operates 2,700 branded chain stores across 38 countries worldwide, while its products are also sold in around 15,000 multi-brand and department stores across the globe.
