The four-day event styled as “Dhaka International Yarn and Fabric Show 2017” is being held at International Convention Centre Bashundhara. It will end on Saturday. State Minister for Textiles and Jute Mirza Azam formally inaugurated the expo on Wednesday organised by CEMS Global in association with CCPIT TEX. “To make Bangladeshi fabric and textile more attractive, such exposition will bemefit the textile industry of the country,” Zhang Tao, executive director of CEMS Bangladesh, said. President and Managing Director of CEMS Global Meherun N Islam mentioned that Bangladesh is now the world’s 2nd largest apparel exporter in the World Trade Organization (WTO) rankings and the country requires to import 75% fabric (woven) to meet the growing domestic demand of over 7,500 garments and textile factories or mills. The 11th DIFS 2017-winter edition is expected to meet the fabric requirement of the ever growing garment industry of Bangladesh.
