Accord must work under Remediation Coordination Cell (RCC) if they want to work after 2018, said state minister for labour and employment Mujibul Haque Chunnu on Sunday.”Government formed RCC to inspect garment industries. After completion of Accord’s contract, if Accord want, they must work complying with country’s law” said Chunnu.The state minister was speaking at the inaugural function of Deputy Inspector General (DIG)’s new office building of (DIFE) at Chashara at Narayanganj.The minister pointed out that efficiency of DIFE has already been enhanced. Every factories and establishments have been brought under DIFE’s supervision, he added.The minister said there are about 83 lac industrial units in the country. It is really a tough job for us to inspect all the units by our inspectors. To ensure safety at the factory, owners and labourers has to be conscious.No labourer will lead afflicted life as we have taken enough attempts for the betterment of labour force of the country. Financial assistance for medical treatment and education is being provided to workers and their family members from Bangladesh Labour Welfare Foundation, he added.Minister said that a specialized 300-bed hospital for the treatment of occupational disease would be built at Narayanganj at a cost of Tk 300 cores. Hopefully, work for the hospital will be started in next October under PPP.Three-storied DIG office was constructed under modernization and strengthening project of DIFE. Md. Shamsuzzaman Bhuiyan, Inspector General of DIFE presided over the programme. Among others AKM Selim Osman, lawmaker and BKMEA president and Sheikh Asaduzzaman, DIG at Narayanganj DIFE were present at the event.
