Forty-six more Alliance-affiliated RMG factories achieved substantial completion of their Corrective Action Plans (CAPs), bringing the total number of factories to 166.The Alliance for Bangladesh Worker Safety on Tuesday announced about completion of these factories remediation programme during the month of August, said a statement. “Alliance-affiliated factories have started to achieve completion of their required repairs at a rapid pace, and we are pleased to recognise those which have made worker safety a priority,” said Alliance Country Director, Amb. Jim Moriarty.“We are confident that remediation will be largely completed across our factories by next year, and we are working with trusted partners now to enable our factory inspections, ensure safety improvements and worker training and empowerment initiatives to be sustained over the long term.”The Alliance also continued to enforce accountability measures for factories that failed to make adequate remediation progress.In August, two factories were suspended from the Alliance compliant factory list, bringing the total number of suspended factories to 158.The complete list of factories that have achieved substantial completion of their CAPs, as well as those that have been suspended, can be found on the Alliance website.The factories include Power Vantage Wear Ltd (3rd & 4th Floor) Zyta Apparels Ltd., Masihata Sweaters Ltd., Mark Fashion Wear (Pvt.)
