Mayor of Rajshahi City Corporation (RCC) AHM Khairuzzaman Liton yesterday said more than 50 garments and other industries will be established in Rajshahi city in the next five years, reports BSS.“We are committed to expanding industrial area to cut the existing burden of unemployment here,” he said while addressing a project-launching ceremony of a non-government organisation at Safawang Chinese Restaurant in the city.Volunteer Multipurpose Women Social Welfare Society (VMWSWS) organised the function aiming to present the salient feature of its Alor Thikana project along with its aims, objectives and implementation strategy.Chaired by VMWSWS Executive Director Nure Jannat, the meeting was addressed, among others, by RCC Ward Councilor Rabiul Islam Sarker, Editor of Daily Sonar Desh Akbarul Hassan Millat, Assistant Director of Non-formal Education Bureau Anwar Kamal,Thana Youth Development Officer Jahurul Islam and local unit president of Bangladesh Mohila Parishad Kolpona Roy.
