During both days leadership roundtables will take place to create a forum for the exchange of views among key decision makers on the actions for a sustainable fashion industry. The list of speakers includes Brune Poirson who works to enhance a green transition in France as the French secretary of state to the minister for the ecological and inclusive transition. Poirson, who has worked in the public, private and associative sectors, began her career in England working for the National Endowment for Science, Technology and the Arts, moving on to work with innovation and development in India and the United States. Charlotte Eskildsen is the founder and creative director of Designers Remix, which was established in 2002 as a 100 per cent up-cycled brand remixing dead stock collections and fabrics. Eskildsen puts sustainability, modernism and functionalism at the core of the design process. A fashion journalist, presenter and influencer, Monica de La Villardiere has been working across a range of media, seeking to create honest and open dialogue within the fashion conversation, geared towards the millennial generation. Dr. Martin Frick, a senior director at the UN, works to ensure that climate action resonates with the Sustainable Development Goal agenda. Frick, bolstered by his background in human rights, has been overseeing the substantive programmes of UN Climate Change. Known for identifying the key drivers of the future of fashion and retail and offering digestible insights on which technologies matter, Maghan McDowell has been spearheading the key drivers of the future of fashion and retail as Innovation Editor at Vogue Business. Ian Pattison, as head of customer engineering, delivers cloud innovation that helps clients understand and manage new technologies. Pattison has been a consultant to some of the UK’s largest and most eminent companies for more than 25 years. Laila Petrie is World Wildlife Fund’s (WWF) global lead on cotton and textiles. She has been overseeing WWF textiles programmes in 10 countries around the world and leads the development of WWF’s textiles sector strategy, research and partnership work with some of the world’s largest textiles brands. Stefan Seidel plays a leading role in the development of Puma’s sustainability strategy and Burcu Senel has been working to progress HSBC’s sustainability agenda and better support the bank’s customers to achieve their own sustainable goals.
