Dhaka, Tashkent form JWG

Bangladesh and Uzbekistan decided on Tuesday to form a Joint Working Group (JWG) to facilitate trade and business between the two countries. Commerce minister Tipu Munshi said this while holding a video conference with Uzbekistan’s deputy prime minister, minister of investments and foreign trade Sardor Umurzakov from the former’s secretariat office in the Bangladesh capital. Salman F. Rahman, Private Industry and Investment Adviser to the Prime Minister, Textiles and Jute Minister Golam Dastagir Gazi also took part in the video conference, the statement added. During the video conference, the two ministers emphasised strengthening of bilateral cooperation in economic and trade spheres between the two Muslim countries. They also decided to constitute JWG to help facilitate trade and economic relations between Bangladesh and Uzbekistan. Mr. Munshi hoped that it would be possible to reduce the different ‘complexities’ between the two countries by forming the JWG. As a result, both the countries would be benefited and also trade speeded up.
