Embassy of Uzbekistan in India organized negotiations between the leadership of Uzbekistan Textile Industry Association and a number of Bangladesh associations in the textile industry, via videoconference.
The event was attended by the Advisor to the Chairman of Uzbekistan Textile Industry Association on reforming the textile industry M. Mahbub and heads of leading textile companies of the two countries, including Bangladesh Knitwear Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BKMEA), Bangladesh Textile Mills Association (BTMA), Bangladesh Garments Accessories & Packaging Manufacturers & Exporters Association (BGAPMEA), Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers & Exporters Association (BGMEA), Bangladesh Terry Towel & Linen Manufacturers & Exporters Association (BTTLMEA).
Chairman of Uzbekistan Textile Industry Association I. Khaydarov suggested Bangladesh partners to establish cooperation with well-known textile brands of Uzbekistan, attract leading engineers to improve the skills of Uzbekistan specialists, as well as open a branch of Bangladesh University of Textiles BUTEX in Uzbekistan.
Views and information were exchanged on issues of mutual interest.
Following their results, the Bangladeshi side expressed its readiness to conduct additional negotiations, as well as to visit Uzbekistan after lifting quarantine restrictions. The parties agreed to maintain constant contact and regular exchange of necessary information.
