According to the latest data released by OTEXA, kidswear import witnessed a dent in April on M-o-M basis.
The country imported just US $ 158.88 million worth of kidswear in April as compared to US $ 211.95 million during March, noting a monthly decline of 25.04 per cent.
However, USA upped its import of kids clothing by 96.85 per cent from a year earlier when its import (April ’20 – precisely a COVID-19 month) in the kids segment valued just US $ 80.71 million.
As far as major destinations are concerned, only Vietnam kept its head above all odds and noted M-o-M growth of 4.53 per cent in its kidswear shipment to USA during April, while all other key shippers declined.
China too lost big and witnessed a significant drop of 32.08 percent in April over March. India and Bangladesh also noted a downfall, which is likely to continue even in May and June as industries remain shut (except few pockets in both countries) due to COVID-19 lockdown.
