Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) has sent letters to the 19 ambassadors of developed countries requesting them to assist for rapid vaccination of readymade garment workers in Bangladesh.
The organization of ready garments confirmed the matter on Thursday (September 9).
BGMEA said, letters have been sent to the ambassadors of the British High Commission, USA, Canada, Italy, Germany, Japan, France, South Korea, Netherlands, Norway, European Union, Spain, Sweden, Denmark, Qatar and Switzerland.
Faruque Hassan, president of BGMEA said, the same kinds of letters were sent to foreign buyer organizations and envoys earlier. Workers are working here taking infection risks. That’s why letters have been sent to buyers and various international organization. Besides, Covid-19 test kits were sought.
