Comoros, which is an island nation in the Indian Ocean at the northern end of the Mozambique Channel off the eastern coast of Africa, has shown keen interest to import apparel from Bangladesh even as it looks to strengthen economic and trade ties with the latter.
Media reports maintained this adding the same was expressed by the visiting Comoros Foreign Minister Dhoihir Dhoulkamal — Dhoihir Dhoulkamal is visiting Dhaka for participating at 21st Indian Ocean Rim Association (IORA) Council of Ministers and related meetings — who called on his Bangladesh counterpart Dr. AK Abdul Momen at capital Dhaka recently.
During the meeting between the Foreign Ministers of both the countries, it was, reportedly, agreed that there would be exchanges of visits between business delegations of the two nations even as the Comoros Foreign Minister on his part underlined the importance of signing a trade agreement with Bangladesh while his Bangladesh counterpart thanked Dhoihir Dhoulkamal for his support for the chairmanship of Bangladesh at IORA while adding that Bangladesh exports various goods to the African countries including apparel items, pharmaceutical products, leather, and jute.
