Zaber & Zubair Fabrics Limited is the largest textile division of the Noman Group of lndustries, arranged the 12th edition of Zaber & Zubair Fabric Week from 22-27 January 2023 at Gulshan.
This season, Zaber & Zubair showcased their fabric collections for the international market, made of eco-friendly fabrics with sustainable properties by including 200 new products and 40 new innovations from Z&Z.
Pineapple fiber and sorona are their newest innovation for this season’s week.
Md Shofiqur Rahman, Executive Director of Zaber and Zubair Fabrics Bangladesh said, “We have worked with pineapple, banana, viscose and jute fibers and mixed them with cotton and polyester to produce new types of eco-friendly and sustainable products.”
Fabric Week 2023 is based on the spring and summer seasons of the next year and the clothes of these seasons must have to be compact, comfortable and lightweight.
Besides that, Sorona- the dyeable, warm, and long-lasting fabric – is widely used in various textile applications like sportswear, outwear, denim, swimwear, intimate apparel etc. It can be used instead of spandex and is stretchable, recoverable and comfortable.
According to Asheque Md Imran Hossain, a representative of GreenMil, they have been working on Sorona since 2017 and presented it to the buyers like Inditex.
Asheque said, “Spandex can’t be recyclable but sorona can be. As 37% of the raw materials needed to produce Sorona comes from industrial corn. It is the most sustainable alternative to spandex.”
ZnZ makes a huge investment in research and development to design and manufacture new products by conducting market studies so that they can help buyers select fabrics for their products rather than merely depending on the buyers. In R&D, ZnZ has an enriched team including technically savvy people from Italy, Sri Lanka, and India to develop new and trend-focused products.
Pradeep Khatri, senior General Manager of Zaber and Zubair Fabrics said, “The fabric week is a great platform for both the buyers and the local manufacturers. Zaber and Zubair always look for new innovation, development and new products and in this continuation, we also bring new products this week.”
“However, we also made a significant development of some of our innovations of the last seasons like banana, jute, viscose, etc.,” he added.
