The apparel industry of Bangladesh continues to explore new and potential markets like Japan and take advantage of every opportunity. Bangladesh is focusing on diversifying the readymade garment export market to increase export earnings and ensure sustainable growth.
Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) President Faruque Hassan said these things during an exchange of views with Hajime Suzuki, Chief Director of International Sales and Marketing of RX Japan Limited at BGMEA Complex in Uttara of the capital on Monday (January 23). RX Japan Limited is a leading exhibition organizer in Japan.
He said, ‘BGMEA has taken initiatives like apparel diplomacy and trade mission to find new opportunities for Bangladesh’s apparel industry and take advantage of them.’
Kurena Watabe of RX Japan was also present at the event. They discussed possible ways in which BGMEA and RX Japan could collaborate in establishing trade links between Bangladeshi and Japanese businessmen, especially those involved in the fashion industry.
This Japanese exhibition organization is working to increase the relationship between Bangladeshi and Japanese businessmen. In the event, the leaders of BGMEA and RX Japan agreed and said that Bangladeshi businessmen will be able to highlight the capability and capacity of the garment industry of Bangladesh by participating in the garment exhibition in Japan.
Earlier, on January 10, BGMEA President Faruque Hassan met the Japanese Ambassador to Bangladesh Ito Naoki at the BGMEA PR office in Gulshan. They expressed interest in initiating contact between Bangladeshi and Japanese businessmen, especially those involved in the fashion industry, to create business opportunities during the meeting. Faruque Hassan sought the ambassador’s cooperation in this regard.
