All-out efforts are required to overcome several challenges that are hindering the country’s garment industry’s growth potential, business leaders said in Dhaka today
They expressed concerns about various issues, including port congestion, bureaucratic hurdles, and the need for improved banking services during a discussion meeting titled “Crisis in the Ready-Made Garments Sector and Ways to Overcome It in the Current Situation,” organised by the Bangladesh Garment Buying House Association (BGBA) at the Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel in the capital.
The business leaders emphasised the importance of united efforts from everyone involved.
Export Promotion Bureau Vice Chairman Md Kamal Hossain; Former FBCCI president Abdul Awal Mintoo; BGMEA President Khandaker Rafiqul Islam; BKMEA President Mohammad Hatem; BTMA President Shawkat Russel; and founding president of BGBA Kaiyum Reza Chowdhury, along with other business leaders, spoke at the programme.
The meeting was presided over by Mohammad Mofazzal Hossain Pavel, president of the BGBA.
