Lintas Bangladesh Company Ltd, a Netherlands-based company, will establish a clothing factory exclusively for women at a cost of US$ 4.41 million in Adamjee Export Processing Zone, said a press release. To this effect an agreement was signed on Thursday between the Bangladesh Export Processing Zones Authority (BEPZA) and Lintas Bangladesh Company Ltd at the BEPZA Complex in the city. Member (Investment Promotion) of BEPZA Abdul Halim Molla and Managing Director of Lintas Bangladesh Company Ltd Willem van Helden signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organisations. BEPZA Executive Chairman Maj Gen Mohd Habibur Rahman Khan, ndc, psc, Member (Engineering) Md Mosaddeque Ali, Member (Finance) Zillur Rahman, ndc, Secretary Md Shawkat Nabi, General Manager (Public Relations) Mrs Nazma Binte Alamgir and General Manager (Investment Promotion) Ahsan Kabir were also present at the deal signing ceremony. The company will produce 14.46 million pieces of lingerie, swimwear and nightwear per annum. It will create employment opportunities for 2,565 Bangladeshi and 14 foreign nationals through this entity.
