The Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI) has announced the show schedule for the upcoming Amazon India Couture Week 2015, in association with jewelry brand Sunar, with a line-up of 12 designers. The five-day fashion event takes place from July 29 to August 2 at New Delhi’s Taj Palace Hotel. For fashion connoisseurs there is more than just extravagant sets and beautiful clothes. There are also exclusive off-site shows by leading designers for a visual treat, FDCI said in a statement. “This year, we have an impressive list of outstanding designers who will showcase their work setting an unparalleled benchmark of diversity and creativity raising the standard of style at India Couture Week. We are delighted to present 11 vibrant shows in alliance with our title sponsor Amazon.in. We see this relationship as a new avenue for fashion designers wanting to connect with their digitally savvy customers,” said Sunil Sethi, president, FDCI. According to the show schedule, the fashion week will begin with one of India’s best known designers Sabyasachi showcasing his creations on July 29. On July 30, it will be the turn of Rahul Mishra and Gaurav Gupta at the show. Anju Modi and Monisha Jaising are scheduled to unveil their designs on July 31. On the same day, Varun Bahl will have an off-site show. Reynu Taandon, Rimple and Harpreet Narula have been given their slots in the afternoon of August 1. Another designer Debarun has also given an afternoon slot. In the late evening, the high profile Rohit Bal will hold an off-site show. On the last day of the Amazon India Couture Week on August 2, Manav Gangwani is scheduled to stage his show in the afternoon while top designer Manish Malhotra will bring the curtain down on the event with an off-site show in the evening.
